The Lodge at Spruce Peak: A Dreamy Getaway for Mountain Lovers

My husband and I love nature and mountains and one of our favorite destinations for both is Stowe, Vermont.  We’ve been there many times in winter, summer and fall but never had the pleasure of staying at the Lodge at Spruce Peak.  While I’ve enjoyed all my stays and visits to Stowe, this resort had the wow factor!

The first thing that struck me as I stepped into the grand lobby was the warm and inviting atmosphere. The rustic yet elegant décor, complete with a roaring fireplace and cozy seating areas, instantly made me feel right at home. The staff greeted me with smiles, accommodated my early check-in request and gave me my Hyatt Privé welcome gift, a box of truffle chocolates!

Mansfield Mountain, the view from our room

Our room was lovely. The spacious room featured a plush king bed, a private balcony with stunning views of the mountains, and a luxurious marble bathroom with a deep soaking tub.  Our sitting area had a gas fireplace and the room featured a well equipped kitchenette with a small refrigerator, stove top, dishwasher and sink. I could have spent hours just lounging in my room, taking in the breathtaking scenery outside.

For a more leisurely experience, you can take a dip in the resort’s heated outdoor pool or relax in the hot tub, soaking in the picturesque views while enjoying a moment of pure bliss.

Unwind and relax at the luxurious spa

After an exhilarating day of outdoor activities, there’s no better way to unwind and rejuvenate than at the luxurious spa at The Lodge at Spruce Peak. You’ll be transported to a world of tranquility and bliss as you step into this serene oasis.  We did get a tour of the lovely spa but we didn’t actually indulge in any of their services.

We did note that the spa offers a wide range of rejuvenating treatments designed to pamper your body and calm your mind. Indulge in a soothing massage that will release tension and soothe sore muscles, or treat yourself to a relaxing facial that will leave your skin glowing and refreshed. You can also opt for a revitalizing body treatment that will nourish and hydrate your skin, or indulge in a manicure and pedicure for the ultimate pampering experience.

Dining options that will make your taste buds dance

Alpine Hall

We only had breakfast at the Alpine hall, where they serve a breakfast buffet or a la carte.  It’s a large dining area with a rustic feel and large windows to take in the view.  We had the made to order omelette, the vegie eggs benedict, the fruit plate and the pumpkin pancakes!  All were delicious!  And since we were Hyatt Privé guests we were allotted $50 a day for breakfast.

They also serve lunch and dinner here and is a convenient spot if you don’t want to leave the property after a long day of skiing or adventuring.

Tipsy Trout

The Tipsy Trout’s menu is a seafood-lover’s dream come true. From the classic fish and chips to the delectable lobster mac and cheese, every dish is expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. The seafood is sourced locally whenever possible, ensuring the freshest and most delicious meals for guests.

Whistlepig Pavillion

We walked in to check it out, but didn’t eat here.  It looked like a fun and rustic barbecue place, and it smelled amazing.  They also have to-go items and you can sit outside next to one of the gas fire pits and enjoy the view of the skiers coming down the mountain or the people ice skating in the center of the lodge grounds.

The Beanery Cafe

Looking for a quick bite or a morning pick-me-up? The Beanery Cafe offers a selection of freshly brewed coffees, pastries, and grab-and-go items that are perfect for a quick snack or meal on the go.  The Pantry which is in the same building as the Beanery has a selection of snacks, wine, cheese, crackers… all the things you need to sit by your cozy fireplace and enjoy some treats.

No matter which dining option you choose, you can expect exceptional service, incredible flavors, and an unforgettable dining experience at The Lodge at Spruce Peak.
