JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa, Italy – a review
Looking to embark on a luxurious getaway to Italy? Look no further than the stunning JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa. Nestled on its own private island in the Venetian lagoon, this hotel offers the perfect blend of tranquility and indulgence. My husband and I just spent 3 luxurious days at this resort after our Athens to Venice cruise on Royal Caribbean.
While the JW Marriott Venice is on it’s own island getting to and from the places you want to go or need to be, was seamless. We told the hotel when we would arrive from the cruise at the bus station and they had a valet waiting for us to take all of our bags to our private water taxi. The taxi took us directly to the hotel. (Leaving to go to the airport was just as easy by private taxi and water taxi).

From the moment we set foot on the island, we were captivated by the breathtaking surroundings. The JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa boasts immaculately manicured gardens, historic buildings, and sweeping views of the iconic city of Venice in the distance. Our first day we took the time to enjoy the island, since we needed some down time. We walked through the gardens, both floral and vegetable, checked out the pools and enjoyed lunch at the roof top restaurant. The vegetable gardens and fruit trees are used in their daily cuisine offers at several of their restaurants.

We chose to book a private taxi to Murano, with a private glass tour at one of the factories there. After our tour we were able to shop and dine and return to the resort later in the afternoon.

When we wanted to spend time in the Venice City Center it was so easy to hop on the complimentary shuttle that drops you off right at St Mark’s square (San Marco). The shuttle runs from 8:30am to 12:30am every half hour or hour depending on the time of day.
