The convenience of having such diverse dining options on-site means that guests can enjoy delicious meals without having to leave the resort, making it easier to relax and unwind.

For more upscale dinging head to Liguria Mediterranean Kitchen offering a Coastal Mediterranean gastronomic experience featuring the robust coastal flavors of Italy and France. We enjoyed dining on the outside patio, where we witnessed for the first time an engagement proposal!

JW Culinary School onsite offers chef-led culinary and mixology workshops on-site with various types of cuisines. We took a class with Chef Julio where we learned various knife skills and other secrets for perfecting a meal. We prepared broccolini, salmon, roast potatoes with a candied shallot topping. The best part besides learning and eating, was finding how to “plate” and present the food. A great evening for those who love to cook or want to learn more.

Pros
One of the most significant advantages of this resort is its stunning location. Nestled along the pristine shores of St. Maarten, guests are treated to breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea. The white sandy beaches and warm, inviting waters create a picture-perfect setting for relaxation and adventure alike. Additionally, the resort’s amenities are top-notch, featuring multiple swimming pools, a full-service spa, and various recreational activities that cater to both families and couples.
Another significant pro is the level of luxury and service provided. The JW Marriott brand is synonymous with high standards, and this resort is no different. However, there are some cons to consider as well. One potential downside is the cost of staying at the JW Marriott St. Maarten Beach Resort. As a luxury destination, the prices for accommodations, dining, and activities can be on the higher end of the spectrum. This might not be suitable for budget-conscious travelers or families looking for an economical vacation option.
Additionally, while the resort is equipped with numerous amenities, some guests may find that they need to venture off-site to explore the local culture and attractions, as the resort is somewhat secluded from the local towns and markets – we were however delighted to just rent a cabana and read our books, enjoy the scenery and body surf! And while we saw a lot of families during our visit, besides the pool there wasn’t a kids club or a lot of child activities to keep children amused – our son is grown so it’s not a concern for us, but for parents looking for a little down time on vacation, there didn’t seem to be a lot of options.
Lastly if you are looking for a vast beach for long walks and making sand castles, the beach is not that long before you run into rocks and cliffs. At high tide there is very little beach left! We saw several beautiful sand castles destroyed! Don’t get me wrong, the beach and the views are beautiful! And the beach does offer good body surfing!
