Notable spots for Beatles and Rock and Roll Tour in London

Are you a die-hard Beatles or rock and roll fan? If so, London is the place to be! From iconic music venues to historic sites, the city is filled with spots that are sure to get your heart racing. In this article, we will explore 5 notable spots in London that are a must-visit for any Beatles or rock and roll enthusiast.  A few months ago, my husband and I had a great private black taxi cab tour that took us to notable spots around London that were blessed by rock and roll legends.

1. Abbey Road:

Arguably the most famous spot on this list, Abbey Road is where the Beatles recorded many of their hit songs. The iconic zebra crossing outside the studio has become a pilgrimage site for fans looking to recreate the album cover of the same name. Don’t forget to stop by the nearby Abbey Road Studios to see where the magic happened!

2. The Pink Floyd Church:

Located in Notting Hill, this church served as a rehearsal & performance space for Pink Floyd in the 1960s. Fans of the band will appreciate the significance of this historic spot and the role it played in the band’s early days.

3. Handel Hendrix House:

This historic house was home to both George Frideric Handel and Jimi Hendrix at different points in their lives. Today, the house serves as a museum dedicated to both musicians, showcasing their personal belongings and memorabilia. It’s a unique opportunity to step inside the lives of two musical legends.

4. Yoko Ono Graffiti:

Beatles fans will be familiar with Yoko Ono, and her influence on John Lennon’s solo career. This mural pays tribute to Yoko Ono and features a striking portrait of Ono alongside a message of peace and love, making it a fitting tribute to her impact on the music world.

5. 7 Cavendish Avenue:

This unassuming townhouse in St. John’s Wood was once home to Paul McCartney. The house holds special significance for Beatles fans, as it was where McCartney wrote many of the band’s classic songs. While you may not be able to go inside, a visit to the exterior is a must for any fan.

6. Ziggy Stardust:

For fans of David Bowie, a visit to Heddon Street in London is a must. This is the spot where the iconic cover of Bowie’s album “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars” was photographed. Take a stroll down the street and immerse yourself in the world of Ziggy Stardust.
